Watercolor Contemporary Realism

My goal is to create paintings that capture subjects which other people overlook. I love working with light, the use of light and dark and playing with shadows. I enjoy the study of "Character" in my portraits. My paintings are realistic with an underlying subtle abstract use of the brush. Feeling driven to paint, I take pride in being prolific and feel honored that I can earn a living by doing something I so thoroughly enjoy.

Andy Smith, Artist

Andy Smith is a self-taught artist. What he lacks in formal training he has made up in self studying the works of the masters, reading voraciously and keeping current in the "Art World." He has an in-born talent, fine tuned by practice, discipline and dedication. His reward for all his hard work is the ability to paint and sell his watercolors full-time.

To whom much is given, much is expected. I feel I have been given huge amounts; both artistically and as a man and I continually strive to give back to my clients, to my community and to be the best role model I can be.
